Below average comedy with great actors but middlingly made by the prolific Pedro Lazaga

Inferior and silly comedy deals with Sabino Gurupe (Alfredo Landa) who marries the beautiful model Elisa Valbuena (Mirta Miller) . Problems emerge when at home comes to live the mother-in-law Doña Ramona (Mari Carmen Prendes) . Then Sabino becomes involved in compulsive buying by means of ¨Bill of Exchange¨ to rise the life style of his wife . To pay the debts the indebted Sabino becomes a hard-working man , as a self-made-man , Sabino works as a leaflet deliverer , as a walking dogs man , or n as an entertainer of foreigner tourists by disguising as a Bandolero . While his friend Valentín Palomino (José Luis López Vázquez) married to Merche (Josele Román) provides him all kinds of jobs . Things go wrong when his spouse returns her old employment and starts modeling at the gowns catwalk , causing extreme anger on the jealous Sabino .

The film partially portrays the society of the seventies with the urban boom and being full of frivolity , egoism , duplicity , and deceits . This hilarious as well as average film is full of humor , absurd scenes , and narrating the conflict between the traditional Spanish society and modernity . It is a simple , and humorous portrait of a time when the Spanish people live in the developing boom, including the consuming society and the computers irruption . Its nostalgic look has some passable moments that reflect a Spain of the sixties and seventies : a poor country in economic developing during the years when the action takes place . It is full of typical Spanish topics , a simple plot and including atmospheric sets . This film is made to entertain , and this movie , especially for a good time and a pleasant entertainment but results to be a a little bit boring and tiring . The flick packs silly incidents , funny comical sketches , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Sitting in a strange middle ground between the completely absurd and the stylishly agreeable . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit . This is a fun and funny , though mediocre , Spanish comedy with the great Alfredo Landa . Alfredo was one of the best and more popular Spanish actors and creator a cinematic subgenre : Landismo. His long career is formed by 110 films for forty years . In his first period through the 60s he starred secondary comical roles in notorious titles as El Verdugo by Berlanga , Ninette y un Señor de Murcia by Fernando Fernan Gomez , and No somos de piedra by Manuel Summers .After the successful No desearas el vecino del quinto by Ramon Fernandez , he performed over 30 comedies in Spanish style : "a la Española" , creating the "Landismo", including titles as Prestamela 15 dias , No desearas la mujer del vecino , Simon contamos contigo , Guapo heredero busca esposa , Dormir ligar todo es empezar , No firmes mas letras cielo , Vente a ligar al Oeste , Jenaro el de los 14 , Manolo La Nuit , Un curita cañon , El reprimido . His third period starts with El puente by JA Bardem , being directed by prestigious filmmakers as Jose Luis Garci in Las verdes praderas , El crack I, El crack II , Cancion de cuna ; Antonio Mercero in La proxima estacion ; Luis Garcia Berlanga in La vaquilla ; Basilio Martin Patino directed him in Los parasos perdidos , Jose Luis Borau in Tata mia and J.L Cuerda in El bosque animado . And standing out important characters in Los Santos Inocentes by Mario Camus , Don Quijote TV series and El Rey del rio by Manuel Gutierrez Aragon . Alfredo Landa is well accompanied by José Luis López Vazquez who became himself a big star during the seventies , especially thanks to Carlos Saura .In the early 70s he surprisingly started to do good dramatic performances in films like Peppermint frappé (1967) , El jardín de las delicias (1970), Bosque del lobo, El (1970) , Mi querida señorita (1971) (Best Actor Award in the 1972 Chicago Film Festival, Cabina, La (1970) (TV)(winner of an Emmy Award), or Habla, mudita (1973). He made a great success with these films which even got stronger after the international effects caused by his TV film 'La cabina' and his contribution to George Cukor's Travels with may aunt (1972). And this success set the rest of his career, full of successful films both dramatic and comic as Escopeta nacional, La (1978) , Verdad sobre el caso Savolta, La (1979) , La colmena (1982), Corte del faraón, La (1985) , Mi general (1987), Largo invierno, El (1991) and many others . This ¨No Firmes mas Letras Cielo¨ displays a very good support cast giving acceptable interpretations , such as : Mari Carmen Prendes , Josele Román , Rafaela Aparicio , Jose Yepes , Beni Deus , Victor Israel , and special appearance by Manuel Summers .

¨No firmes más letras cielo¨ was regularly directed by the prolific Pedro Lazaga and it was a flop at Spanish box office . Lazaga directed various film with the popular comic player Paco Martinez Soria . Lazaga was born in Valls , Tarragona , Catalonia , and died on November 30, 1979 in Madrid . He was a prolific director and writer , specially known for Los Chicos del Preu (1967), María Morena (1951), Cuerda De Presos (1956) and Posición Avanzada (1966). Pedro was a craftsman , a notorious director and writer who directed all kind of genres such as Peplum : Siete Espartanos , Wartime : Cuerda De Presos , Posicion Avanzada , Torrepartida , La Patrulla ; Drama : Rostro De Asesino , Otro Arbol De Guernica , but especially known for comedies in low budget . Director Pedro Lazaga made , during the fifties and early sixties , eight films , mostly comedies : ¨Muchachas De Azul¨, Ana Dice Si¨. ¨Luna De Verano¨, ¨Económicamente Debiles¨ , ¨Trio Damas¨ for screenwriter and producer Jose Luis Dibildos and his ¨Agata Films Productions¨. The best of all them resulted to be ¨Los Tramposos¨. He continued making comedies such as Patrulla De Los Once , Los Tramposos , Sabian Demasiado , El Vikingo , ¡No Firmes Más Letras, Cielo! , Vente a Ligar Al Oeste , Hasta El Matrimonio Nos Separe , La Amante Perfecta , Fulanita y Sus Menganos , Vota a Gundisalvo , Terapia Al Desnudo , Tres Suecas Para Tres Rodríguez , Yo soy Fulana de Tal , 5 Almohadas Para Una Noche , En La Cresta De la Ola and several others . His most known films were with the popular comic player Paco Martinez Soria , such as : Abuelo Made in Spain or Old made in Spain, , Padre De La Criatura , Alegre Divorciado , Estoy Hecho Un Chaval , Vaya Par Gemelos , among others.
