When Darinda . was. in the making, the writer & director. Kaushal Bharati of this movie got ill, then the two actors who were. also directors, Sunil Dutt and Feroz Khan toghether directed the film till they completed the film.to help the producer. The same thing had happened with the Dilip Kumar and Manoj Kumar film, Aadmi . The Kishore Kumar's. song Ankh Mili Nazar Milane Ke Liyeye Nazar Milao..... is very good song, but only the one. line of. the song has been picturised on Feroz Khan the rest of the song is missing from this film. The song is one of best of Kishore Kumar.

K.C. and the Sunshine Band's song " Let It Go, Part 1" is featured in the film. The song appears during the New Years Eve party with Feroz Khan and Praveen Babi dancing. This part of the film is sadly missing from the film's VCD's and version available on youtube.
Hugo Montenegro song " Movin On" from the 1971 album "Mammy Blue" was used in the film. It was used during the scene where Parveen Babi is driving her car very fast and Feroz Khan on a motorcycle tries to get her to pull over.
KC and Sunshine Band song "Let It Go" that was used in the Feroz and Parveen party scene was later remixed. It was done by Zero B song "Lock Up" from the album Masterpiece Goldie - Ministry of Sound. Also in the song King Tito's Gloves by Deadly Avenger.
The Scientist - song "The Exorcist" sampled the song Let it Go by KC and Sunshine Band. This was the same song Feroz and Parveen danced too in the film.
The songs and music are classic, Kalyanji-Anandji music is one of their best if heard today and all great singers like Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar have sung the songs.
After Darinda, producer B.S.Gulati then produced the Esmayeel Shroff directed film, Dil Akhir Dil Hai. Parveen Babi was in Darinda & Dil Akhir Dil Hai.
The theme of the TV show Peter Gunn by Billy Vaughn and his orchestra was used in a few scenes.
Feroz Khan and Praveen Babi's new year celebration scene was edited out of the VCD released. They are seen dancing to KC and The Sunshine Band's song Let It Go. The scene was available in the VHS version of the movie released in the 1980s.
The background music from a few scenes were used in Sarkari Mehman.
While Playback Singer Mukesh was singing Chahe Aaj Mujhe Na Pasand Karo.......At the recording Kalyanji and Anandji were controlling Mukesh not to sing at pitch at the recording because of his health problem.
Great Singers like Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Kanchan and Yesudas, all of them the biggest major singers of Indian Cinema, all of them sang for this film.
