Sex & Nudity

  • (Rated PG in 1981, but since it has partial nudity and the PG-13 rating came out in 1984, it might possibly have been PG-13 by today's movie rating system)
  • Brief partial nudity of male and female in bathing scene; (Male nudity: bare buttocks above water. Underwater. Female nudity: partial side of a bare breast and buttocks.)
  • The two bathers talk later while getting dressed (but with a tree separating them.) Nothing is exposed in this scene as they are already dressed as they talk.
  • Talk of virgin sacrifice with one young woman delicately bemoaning the related risk of her virginity.

Violence & Gore

  • Several deaths, depicted with increasing detail. One man is seen briefly burning alive, and later a corpse is seen being eaten by monsters is considerable detail. A dragon is seen with it's side ripped open and guts spilling out. this is pretty graphic and lasts about ten seconds. An old man stabs himself in the chest.

  • some wine drinking at a banquet.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Scary, mean dragon; young woman engulfed in flames; man burning alive; baby dragons eating corpse of princess, including partial dismemberment. Some of the movie has a horror edge.
