The necklace that Rachel Dennison wears with her character's name on it was the same one worn by her sister, Dolly Parton, who played Doralee in 9 to 5 (1980). It was given to her by her sister when the series began filming.

Jean Marsh, who is English, was told that she had to read in an American accent for her audition. After she auditioned, she asked if she could quickly read again in her English accent. The executives liked her accent and she got the part.
