At a train station Amanda King runs into Lee Stetson, a man carrying an important package. On the run, he asks a reluctant Amanda to give it to "the man in the red hat" for him. Unable to do so she takes it home to unforeseen consequences.
In 1983 Scarecrow and Mrs. King made it's debut with a crazy episode about a suburban mother of two who accidentally becomes involved in the undercover world of spy verses spy. The rest is history as the sophisticated agent, code name "Scarecrow" finds himself thrown together with this intuitive and remarkably loyal civilian. Over the next four years this unlikely pair become reluctant assistance, tolerant co-workers, spirited partners, the love of each others lives and finally man and wife. The transition is gradual, it sweet and the chemistry between Kate Jackson and Bruce Boxleitner is unsurpassed. In a day and age when there is no real romance left in TV and the movies, when two people meet and fall into bed before they even exchange phone numbers, it is refreshing to watch a show that has adventure, intrigue, romance, friendship and a true sense of gentleness that this show brings. I would rather watch reruns of Scarecrow and Mrs King than most of the dribble that is on TV.
