Storyline

Ah Kuo, Xiao Yu and Chubby are three country bumpkins living in the mountains with their cantankerous grandfather, who teaches the boys about discipline, dedication and devotion through martial arts training. Over the years, the boys have done a lot of kung fu training and have gained much in the ways of martial arts, including good health and a bond that keeps them inseparable. However, during an argument involving who is suppose to feed Grandpa's pet bird, it escapes and now they fear punishment. Not wanting to get into anymore trouble, they flee from home in an attempt to find the bird and bring it back so Grandpa won't know and this prompts the boys to take a trip to the big city, where their country way of life causes them to get into trouble and clash with the locals a little bit because they have no knowledge of city life. During the trip, the boys discover their Grandma and little sister Cheng-Cheng living the good life and so she takes them in to look after them, but their ... Written by Keno Reeves

Ah Kuo: [after Grandma has tucked him and his brothers in for the night] Grandma?
Grandma: [turns around with a smile] Yes?
Ah Kuo: Wait a minute, can we ask you something?
Fatty: Do you miss Grandpa?
Grandma: [thinks for a moment, then has a small frown on her face] No, I don't miss him.
Fatty: [dismayed] But Grandpa misses you alot.
Hsiao: Yeah. He drinks every night and looks at your photo. He always looks sad and lonely. Poor Grandpa... he really misses you.

How good are old Kung Fu movies?
4 January 2006 | by g182See all my reviews

I was just recently talking to a friend about this movie, but he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. So I tried finding it on DVD and no luck there either. The only option I've come across is VHS and as if anyone watches VHS tapes anymore. The fact that this movie isn't on DVD, (and that there's no comments to support this movie) can only tell me a few things. Either no one remembers it, no one really saw it, or no one cares. This was one of my favourite movies as a kid, and the second movie was even more fun than the first. Three kids kicking ass left right and center, with really lame jokes that could only be used in an 80's Kung Fu movie and get away with it. The movie was so much fun to watch when I was younger, I don't remember the plot at all though to be honest. Which is why I'd love to own it on DVD. So if anyone else remembers these 2 movies, spread the word! lets get Young Dragons 1 an 2 on DVD for the sake of our children!!!!
