MPAA Rated R for strong violence and gore, language and nudity

Sex & Nudity

  • Half the movie takes places in a nude strip bar, where dancing topless women are seen periodically.
  • We have to keep in mind that the place the protagonists go is a place full of topless women dancing. So, there will be a lot of women dancing showing their breasts as men watch and cheer.
  • Once the people go into the strip club you see dozens of prolonged close ups of breasts.
  • During the motel scene with the Gecko brothers and the Fuller family, one of the Gecko brothers daydreamed that the Fuller girl asked him for oral sex (which was unbelievable)
  • A woman dances seductively while a bar crowd watches.
  • Some sexual references.

Violence & Gore

  • At the beginning, one of the brothers shoots a ranger in the head because he thinks that the cashier of the liquor store mouthed "help us" but the cashier admits that he didn't, he is shot by the same brother
  • One of the brothers gets shot in the hand by the cashier of the liquor store after the brother says "HE SHOT ME IN THE FUCKING HAND! I TOLD YOU HE SAID "HELP US"!!" then the cashier screams "I NEVER SAID "HELP US"!!!!" and then the other brother puts lighter fluid on a roll of toilet paper and sets it on fire and throws it to the cashier and the cashier burns to death.
  • When Seth leaves the motel for awhile and he comes back with burgers and beer, he finds that Richie raped and killed the woman they held hostage (the incident happened off-screen maybe during the scene of the Fullest at the restaurant)
  • A man has his finger and nose broken by one man and gets kicked in the ribs by another man while he's down.
  • a lot of vampire related violence
  • the violence is mostly cheesy and unrealistic: tons of vampires exploding and heads spewing body fluids and collapsing
  • countless vampires are staked, shot, impaled, beaten up, blown up, set on fire, and ripped apart with blood splattering everywhere
  • holy water is thrown at the vampires, and it melts them and causes their organs to spill out
  • most vampires that are killed subsequently burst into flames and melt into a puddle of gore
  • a table is overturned and 4 vampires are impaled on the legs
  • in a (slightly) more realistic scene, a boy is being devoured alive by vampires, they tear at bits of his flesh while he begs for a mercy kill, which someone tearfully complies with.
  • a man impales a vampire in the stomach with a shotgun and shoots other vampires through the hole, using the open wound to pump the gun before each shot
  • etc

  • 30 uses of 'f**k', in anger mostly. Other, more mild obscenities are also present.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A fair amount of drinking, but not much else.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man is seen on fire and shooting for some seconds before he presumably dies in an explosion.
  • Other parts could also be intense (perhaps). But the overall movie is more crime thriller than horror, and it's actually one of Tarantino's softer stories.
