Danielle Harris was quite nervous about shooting the table-dance scene (which actually doesn't appear in most TV versions), so she asked if she could choose the people who are sitting at the table. She picked the boys who would be most uncomfortable watching her as to make herself more comfortable while performing.

The boyfriend of one of the sisters, who is also the star basketball player on the team, is actually an incredibly terrible basketball player in real life. Extremely uncoordinated. Filming had to be re-shot an extraordinary amount of times due to his lack of talent with a basketball.

The basketball team in the movie is the Hunter High Vikings. The real life Utah high school team is the Hunter High Wolverines. "Wolverines" appears on the scoreboard and a banner with the image of a wolverine can be seen on the wall as the viking-boat parade float enters the gymnasium bearing the winter festival queen contestants.
