Heather Graham Set to Join Aaron Eckhart in Thriller Wander

Heather Graham has joined the cast of director April Mullen’s conspiracy thriller, Wander. Graham joins the previously cast Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Katheryn Winnick (Vikings). The film is being written by Tim Doiron (Real Detective), and Deadline reports the following synopsis:

Wander follows Arthur Bretnik (Eckhart), a mentally unstable private investigator, who, after being hired to probe a suspicious death in the town of Wander, becomes convinced the case is linked to the same ‘conspiracy cover up’ that caused the death of his daughter. Graham is set to play Shelley Luscomb, an attorney and close friend of Arthur. Shelley has known Arthur long before his world unraveled and acts a voice of reason in his life.

Paul Thomas Anderson Directed a Short Musical Film For Thom Yorke Called Anima and Here's a Teaser

Paul Thomas Anderson, the director behind Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, and Magnolia, teamed up with Netflix and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke to helm a musical short film called Anima.

The short is said to be a ‘one-reeler’ and it has been made alongside Yorke’s upcoming album of the same name. Yorke scores and stars in the short which is described as a “mind-bending visual piece, best played loud.”

I’m a fan of both Anderson and Yorke and there’s no doubt that this is going to be interesting to see what they’ve created together.

The film will be released on Netflix on June 27th and will also be screened in select IMAX theaters on June 26th. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

The heralded musician is pulling out all the stops for his latest solo effort.

The teaser doesn't give us much to go on. We get a taste of the music that will be incorporated into the short. We also get Thom Yorke peeking at the camera from behind a wall. The whole thing is comprised of some very trippy imagery, which is on brand for both Yorke and Paul Thomas Anderson. It's being referred to as a "one-reeler." In the beginning of the teaser, that is defined as follows.

Paul Thomas Anderson Teases New Musical Short ‘Anima’ With Thom Yorke (Video)

Netflix on Thursday released a teaser trailer for a surprise new musical short from director Paul Thomas Anderson, “Anima,” starring Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.

The film will debut in free showings at select Imax theaters on Wednesday, June 26, ahead of a launch on Netflix the following day. That’s also the date Yorke will release his third non-Radiohead album, also called “Anima,” with nine new songs — plus a bonus track, “Ladies and Gentlemen (Thank You for Coming),” that will only be available on the vinyl edition.

Anderson describes the film as a one-reeler, which the teaser helpfully defines as “a motion picture, especially a cartoon or comedy, of 10-12 minutes duration and contained on one reel of film; popular especially in the era of silent films.”

Check Out (Marky) Mark Wahlberg's Funky & Fun Movie Roles Throughout the Last Two Decades
Cheers to Marky Mark and his funky (and fun) bunch of movie roles! Today, Mark Wahlberg turns 48 years old and boy oh boy the man is just getting better with age. Sure, we will forever be grateful for his Calvin Klein ads and his epic rap game when he was known as Marky Mark in the early '90s, but his time as an actor is really what we're thankful for today. After following in his big brother Donnie Wahlberg's footsteps in the music industry, the Boston native shot onto the movie scene in 1995 with a role in The Basketball Diaries. He then wowed fans with his role as a porn star in Boogie Nights and by the early '00s he was everywhere. From The Perfect Storm and Planet of...

Wahlberg got his start as a rapper, as the frontman for the group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, but it was his good looks rather than musical ability that brought him notoriety as the premier Calvin Klein underwear model in the 1990s. From there it was a quick jump to movies, with the young actor getting his big break as the lead in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s “Boogie Nights” in 1997.

Alex Ross Perry Is Pissed At the Film Industry and Not Afraid to Explain Himself
When Robert Greene first looked at the raw footage his longtime friend and collaborator Alex Ross Perry had brought him from the set of “Her Smell,” a familiar feeling began to bubble up in the editing room: They were about to make the greatest goddamn movie of all time. Greene, Perry’s regular editor, laughed at the way they characterized it at the time: “‘People are gonna compare this to “Boogie Nights,” but when we’re done, people are gonna forget how to even say the words ‘Boogie’ and ‘Nights.’ We’re gonna erase that shit from history because of what we’re doing!’”

Speaking over the phone from his house in Missouri, the editor remembered being preemptively stoked for post-production: “We had this incredible Elisabeth Moss performance, we had these amazing shots from [cinematographer] Sean Price Williams, the art direction was fucking spectacular, the lighting was gorgeous, the whole team had come together and delivered.
