MPAA Rated R for violence, language and brief sexuality

Sex & Nudity

  • A man wakes up in bed next to a woman. The man pulls the blankets down to reveal the woman's breasts and kisses her chest between her breasts. The whole thing only lasts about 5 seconds.
  • A group of men moon a helicopter - their buttocks are visible.
  • Some crude and coarse joking with sexual and scatalogical themes.
  • A man attempts to prove he is not Jewish by showing he is uncircumcised - male rear nudity visible.

Violence & Gore

  • Soldiers are seen burnt by grenade blasts. Soldiers are seen being tortured and interrogated by Iraqis. A character has teeth pulled without anesthesia.
  • Numerous soldiers are killed in firefights.


  • Numerous and frequent "s" words as well as a decent mix of other 4-letter words. Also a very small amount of blasphemy using "Christ" and "Goddamn" approx twice each.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • American and Iraqi soldiers are frequently seen smoking cigarettes. One main character refers to himself early in the film as a chain smoker.
  • A character carries a flask - presumably of alcohol.
  • A character writes a letter stating that if he dies he wants 500 pounds to be used for alcohol for the men remembering him.
  • There is a brief reference to a party involving binge drinking after the men return.
