As Calvin turns on the projector connected to the TV set, we begin to see a backwards "6" from the familiar "Academy Leader" countdown; but the next number, a backwards "5" is from a modern countdown leader used by Digital Media Corp.
When Adam is breaking the news to his father about the Soviet Union's collapse, Calvin refers to the USSR as "an evil empire". The phrase wasn't used to describe the Soviet Union until the Reagan presidency, in 1983.
When Adam is one year old, his mother walks to the service elevator with him to show his father that he can stand up "All by himself". He is picked up by Calvin and doesn't actually stand alone. Also, his mother is heard saying, "Come on, you can do it" but her mouth does not move.
During the dance sequence at Club 40s, Brendan Fraser's stunt double is obviously a double, during the more strenuous moves. They look very alike, especially as to their hair, but the double's face is partially visible at times.
When Adam and Eve are driving and talking about finding a wife for Adam the passenger side mirror of the truck is set so it is unusable by the driver; then just before the scene changes the mirror completely changes position, and is still unusable.
When Adam gets his first ever view of the ocean we see a sailboat going slowly not too far off shore. They make a quick cut back to Adam to see his excited look then one second later they cut back to the same ocean shot and the sailboat is nowhere in sight.
When Adam drops his baseball cards and Eve helps to pick them up, they forget one card located near the side of the suitcase. When the scene changes to where Adam and Eve start to walk away, the card is gone, although no one ever bent down to pick it up.
The scene with an intro stating it is winter 1965 is shown before the scene with the summer 1965 intro. It is obviously not in the early months of 1965 though because the family is making Christmas decorations so these scene are shown out of order.
When Adam is driving the refrigerated truck and pulls over telling Troy that there was an adult bookstore back there, he never puts the truck into park. He just takes his sunglasses off, unbuckles, and jumps out of the truck.
In the fallout shelter, the father sets up a mock television with
a film projector and a rear projection screen. He makes a point of saying that it uses a mirror, and the image (an episode of "The Honeymooners") is shown reversed. However, with that setup (which was relatively common back in the 1970s) the image would be normal, not reversed, because viewing through the rear screen is the second reversal.
Early in the movie Adam asks Eve why Cliff like to wear another man's underpants after Cliff said he came back to get his Ralph Laurens. The implication is Adam has never seen brand name underwear. However, later in the film when Eve and Troy are looking through Adam's room they open a drawer wear his Calvin Klein underwear are neatly folded.
That is most likely the underwear he bought on his shopping trip with Troy earlier in the movie as Calvin Klein underwear wasn't around when Adam's family went into the shelter. Most likely Troy explained the name when they were purchased.
It has been said that in the restaurant in the 1965 scene, the woman asks her son for a Cherry Coke and that Cherry Coke wasn't created until 1985. However, in the 50's and 60's, a popular drink was a Cherry Coke, using plain Coca-Cola and adding maraschino cherries and (sometimes) cherry juice.
At the end of the movie, when Calvin is taking about setting the locks for 10 years, he is standing at the (one and only) door to do so. Adam and Eve appear from farther inside the shelter. It appears that there is no other door.
They are standing at the lock controls which are located at the main entrance (the entrance with the ladder) - Adam and Eve entered through the rear entrance (with the elevator) as the main entrance was damaged in the crash in 1962.
The whole premise of the Movie is based on Adam being raised in a pristine environment and taught only the finest manners. During the introduction to Heather at 1 hour and 13 minutes into the movie, Adam extends his hand in friendship. This is completely out of character for any gentleman. He awaits the lady to take the first move - always. It is the lady's prerogative to offer her hand or not. (This custom may be different for different countries..)
