In fact, her very first onscreen appearance was a role alongside her mother, Melanie Griffith, in 1999's Crazy in Alabama. Dakota made her big-screen debut alongside her mother in 1999's Crazy in Alabama, but her big break came when she was cast as Anastasia "Ana" Steele in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey (she's currently filming the second film adaptation of the series with Jamie Dornan). She's also starred in Black Mass and the romantic comedy How to Be Single with Leslie Mann and Rebel Wilson. Aside from showing off her acting chops, Dakota has also blossomed into a breakout style star and made us laugh with her off-the-cuff remarks and

An hour outside of New Orleans is the stunning Magnolia Plantation circa 1876, home to the sets of 12 Years a Slave, Crazy in Alabama, and the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, The Best of Me.

The film is Sparks' ninth page-to-screen undertaking and the feeling of this location is familiar to a Sparks setting - Southern, romantic, and humid. Very humid. For The Best of Me, it's the perfect hometown for Dawson and Amanda, high school sweethearts who become estranged and reconnect 20 years later when they return home for a friend's funeral.

Played by James Marsden (The Notebook, X-Men), Dawson is quiet, guarded, and from a troubled family. Amanda, played by Michelle Monaghan ("True Detective"), is forward, free-spirited, and privileged. The story starts out in present day when the two return home to the small town of Oriental, but frequently flashes back to when Dawson and Amanda first met. Played by rising

Perhaps needing a break from performing, or maybe inspired by all the big name filmmakers he's been working with over the past year, Banderas is looking to move behind the camera. And he's taking his long-time wife Melanie Griffith along for the ride. Variety reports Banderas is prepping for production on Akil, a love story he's written, and will direct and produce. This will mark his third directorial effort, following the 1999 dramedy Crazy in Alabama and the 2006 Spanish-language romantic drama Summer Rain. And as she did in the former, Griffith will front her husband's film. Named for its title character,

Antonio Banderas Is Going Solo

Antonio Banderas has confirmed he will be returning to the director’s chair for his upcoming psychological thriller Solo. The project is based on an original screenplay written by Erik Jendersen.

The sci-fi thriller centers on a Spanish colonel (played by Banderas) who suffers from post-conflict trauma. Erik Jendersen’s top writing credit to date is the excellent Band of Brothers, which further implies this could have several combat sequences.

This film will make Antonio’s third time directing, the first being 1999’s Crazy in Alabama and the second 2006’s Summer Rain but neither were anything more then average. Maybe a project with a bit more to say for itself will do Banderas’ dwindling career the world good in a similar vein to Ben Affleck.

The film will be produced by Antonio Banderas’ company Green Moon Label and will use an almost exclusively Spanish cast although the movie will be shot in English.
