Aa ab laut Chalen: A Good message giving drama
21 April 2019 | by kmbaruahSee all my reviews

The movie is directed by Rishi Kapoor. Well I quite get the point that people rated it so low. I liked it very much and enjoyed it every time I saw it. It has a good story-line , good performers, good message and the story-telling is also good and clear in itself. In short it is about a young man who goes to USA in search for a better job and in turn finds out that his father is alive who is considered dead by his family. He knows the truth that his father is married again but not happy. He unknowingly does a job in his father company and finally finds out the truth. Though unforgiving at first but was but was persuaded by his mother to forgive his Father which ends in the Family-Union. This plot is supported by many other themes like cultural difference between India and the west, Helping one's fellow men,Social unity between an Indian and a Pakistani (Akshay's self made Big brothers in USA) misunderstanding the Western life (it is actually funny) for Indians, the romantic relation between Akshay and Aishwarya and many more which are well and clearly portrayed.

People regard it low for few flaws like : Why didn't Rajesh-Khanna never felt about his family which of course points towards his negative character. This should have been followed by something negative response by him which is shown fully opposite in the movie and the negative side is replaced by the western attitude. The behavior of the Indians with respect to Western life-style is so heartily funny that I feel laugh every time I watched it. The characterization of Sikh and Muslim man is very well portrayed. I understood the people views but I guess Rishi Kapoor wanted to make an optimistic movie based upon traditional values and family lives which is well reflected in this film among many other films. Concluding the film is unreal in few aspects within the film but if you need to have a good funny entertaining time with movies it is definitely one of them. If you are in this very mood never miss this and you will pass a good time. I would rate it as 8 out of 10.
