Would They Sound Like This Terrytoon?
15 December 2013 | by bobliptonSee all my reviews

Every once in a Paul Terry would let house composer Phil Scheub do some opera work. The best remembered examples involved Mighty Mouse rescuing Pearl Pureheart from Oil Can Harry -- or maybe the other way around. In this one, however, it's moved up a notch: the cats put on an operatic performance for the female cat, while her daddy, the bulldog, disapproves. Same voice artists, though.

Whatever the level, at least this one runs through its gags well: nothing breath-taking, but solidly amusing. Terry's staff was always competent, even if he rarely allowed them much leeway. He does here, and it's a good one.
