Viltteri, a balding guy in his thirties living in rural northern Finland, is hopelessly clueless about his new role as a married man and the father of a newborn son. A perfect escape from family responsibilities is having to get his old Hillman Minx repaired and inspected for road-worthiness, with a little help from an eccentric bunch of friends who never seem to have grown up either.Written by

At 35:30 the car is damaged at the inspection station. The front bumper is hanging and the head light on the driver's side is broken. Later in the film at 43:40 there is no sign of damage anymore. At 49:50 the bumper is dangling again when they drive to the hospital. See more »
This is one of the funniest films there is. (Ok, others than Finnish-spoken persons don't understand this film, because it's in Finnish, and I don't think that they have made this with English subtitles.) But as well it's funny, the movie gives a great view of the life of the late 80's in the Lapland of Finland. Vesa Vierikko is absolutely one of the most respected actors in Finland. He does great job as Viltteri, newly-wed guy, whose wife is about to have their first child. Katsastus offers many humorous scenes and it has generated many great lines that are still used in everyday language. I recommend this warmly. If you want to laugh and spend a great hour with real entertainment, watch this!
