How many viewings of Jonathan Glazer’s Sexy Beast does it take before you realize Don Logan is the most sympathetic character in the movie?

Not only does his friend attempt to blow him off, but the object of his affection is married to some spineless twit and can’t stand so much as to look at him. My heart goes out to the guy...

"It's about the passage of time," said producer Carolyn Strauss. "The toll of time on people. It's mellowed some people and hardened others.

"And it's about the town's maturing and becoming part of the 'Union' and what that event sets in motion, in a very personal way for the people that it brings in town and what ensues.

"The time has taken its greatest toll on 'Swearengen' (McShane). He’s the person who really drove so much of the life of the town and there's a sense of that power waning somewhat, and what ensues of that is a big part of the story.

‘Under the Skin’ Director Jonathan Glazer Stuns With Skydiving Apple Ad — Watch

‘Under the Skin’ Director Jonathan Glazer Stuns With Skydiving Apple Ad — Watch
Later this year “Under the Skin” will mark its sixth year since its world premiere at the 2013 Telluride Film Festival, and to cinephiles’ disappointment writer-director Jonathan Glazer has not released a directorial effort since then. Fortunately, Glazer returned this week with a brand new commercial touting the Apple Watch. The advertisement is only one minute long, but it’s got enough jaw-dropping visual bravado to tide over “Sexy Beast,” “Birth,” and “Under the Skin” fans over until Glazer’s next feature.

Glazer’s Apple Watch ad stars world champion indoor skydiver and air dancer Inka Titto. The premise of the commercial is relatively simple: Titto is out for a run using her Apple Watch to map out her route and the device takes her from mountainsides to an exhilarating free fall in the sky. Glazer was a regular in the commercial and music video world prior to directing feature films.

The Cannibal Club Review – Lff 2018

  • HeyUGuys
Haute couture and cannibalism have been fitting cine-bedfellows since Anthony Hopkins cracked open the Chianti and fava beans back in 1989. After the more recent Raw resulted in mass festival walk-outs, Brazilian film-maker Guto Parente strives to follow suit by slapping sangrias at sun-kissed locales with axe thrashing, limb lopping and blood spitting/secreting. All by way of flesh mastication from the rich and supercilious. Otavia (Tavinho Teixeira) and Gilda (Ana Luiza Rios) are an affluent couple riding the life of Riley in a plush Brazilian beach home. But behind closed doors and phoney smiles, the pair are part of a cannibal club who meet to chow down on the remains of the hoodwinked poverty stricken, after hiring them as servants/sex slaves.

Aside from the complications that come with acquiring human flesh, there isn’t really anywhere for The Cannibal Club to go. Otavia and Gilda gazelle about protected and
