Storyline

As if barely managing to eke out a living isn't enough, Rena, an honest and hard-working call centre operator, is also burdened with the responsibility of supporting her two slacker brothers--the persistent inventor-in-the-making, Chronis, and the free-spirited musician, Vaggelis. But, soon, one thing will lead to another, and Rena will resort to a desperate last-gasp plan; a terrible decision with dire consequences, as the siblings along with Vaggelis' sweetheart, Maria, all end up in the unforgiving deserts of distant Anatolia and Arab Sheikh, Muhammad Abdallah's dank dungeons. Now, it's either a life of imprisonment or a place at the palace's well-guarded sultry harem; however, is this a place for Rena? In the end, what will it take to get out of this fine mess? Greek comedy at its best!
1 September 2001 | by mangafasSee all my reviews

A really funny comedy about Greek craftiness, full of humor and exquisite acting. Rena Vlahopoulou, an icon figure of Greek comedy is particularly entertaining to watch, especially when she belly-dances for an Arab emir (a classic scene of Greek cinematography). The movie, full of plot reversals, is totally hilarious. Also, the performances of Hronis Exarhakos and Maria Ioannidou are noteworthy. The film is regularly broadcasted in Greek television so if you are ever in Greece don't miss it!
