The fight on the bridge between Spike and Abdul Hakim in Episode 2, "Stray Dog Strut," is a homage to the fight scene in Game of Death (1978) between Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. All of Spike's fights feature the use Bruce Lee's "Jeet Kune Do" style of fighting. See more »

The past is the past and the future is the future. A man is a man and a woman is a woman. The present is the present. I am who I am and you are who you are. That's all there is to it. Does it really matter? Or do we just think it does?

In 2001, director Shinichirô Watanabe supervized the re-mixing of episodes Asteroid Blues, Ballad of Fallen Angels, and Wild Horses. All 3 episodes were re-mixed in Dolby 5.1 with several new sound effects and an improved musical score. Later that year Watanabe released a second set of episodes which consisted of Waltz for Venus, Mushroom Samba, and Hard Luck Woman. These were also re-mixed. For the U.S. release the episodes were released as one two-disc set and re-mixed into a Japanese DTS 5.1 soundtrack. An English and Japanese Dolby 5.1 soundtrack was also included. See more »
"One ship, one crew, one destiny" indeed. If you had to sum anime up into two words, it would undoubtably be "Cowboy Bebop." It's a 26 episode series that redefines what animation is and what it can do. The character developement is beyond comparison and the voice acting is unforgettable. If you see only one anime in your life, make it this one. I can't sum it up and give it the credit it deserves, but what I can say, is that it is the most compelling story to be turned into an anime that will have you laughing, and the more sensitive may even cry, but you will get goosebumps. All I can say is, don't forget to watch this before you die, it is worth it and then some.
