Before Steve Coogan became Alan Partridge he was already Paul and Pauline Calf. Steve Coogan showcases four of his finest comic creations in an hour of painful laughing. First up is Pauline Calf who is a man eater who sleeps with celebrities and also has a child called Arnie. She thinks she is dead Sophistacated. She is a sister of Paul Calf. Second up is nervous comedian Duncan Thickett whose unfunny stories reflect his simplicity and makes himself the butt of the joke. Next up is Ernest Moss a safety adviser who is anything but safe when he takes about drills, cars, and the Stockport Via Duct. And last but not least the bar room philosopher that is Paul Calf. Paul Calf likes to drink, smoke, cry about his ex-girlfriend and his past times include punching students. He is the funniest out the characters.
Tying the show together is cold feet star John Thompson whose persona is that of a working mans club comedian who used to tell racist and sexist jokes but is now reformed.
If you want a good laugh with one of Britain's best funny men this is it, it also should be a staple of any Steve Coogan fans collection. But as Paul calf might say " Bag of Shite "
