The literal translation of the title of this movie is: the tour of the battlefield.
Like most other Chinese war movies, this one is also based on the true story that really happened in real life. However, there is a little difference that is easily overlooked, and that is it has included the experience of war correspondents. Most other Chinese war flicks only concentrated on the soldiers, officers, and the civilian effected by the war, but these are the people who are directly effected, the war correspondents, however, is different in that they are the one observe the war and present the war to others who are not effected directly, and somehow, topics like this is very rare in China, and this movie did a good job of trying to bring it out.
