Comedy Central’s ‘Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik’ to Feature Interviews with Kumail Nanjiani, Nick Kroll
Comedy Central has given the greenlight to “Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik,” a comedy interview series hosted by the former “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” writer.

Each episode of the series, premiering September 6, will feature a conversation with one of Jeselnik’s friends, who happen to be some of the biggest names in comedy. Over six episodes, Jeselnik will sit down for conversations with David Spade, Kristen Schaal, Kumail Nanjiani, Natasha Leggero, Nick Kroll, and Tig Notaro, discussing their careers, influences and what it’s like to perform stand-up.

The series comes as part of Comedy Central’s multi-platform development deal with Jeselnik, who has made regular appearances in Comedy Central’s roasts, including notable episodes on Donald Trump, Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr. He also hosted “The Jeselnik Offensive” for two seasons on the network, and in fall 2018 launched his podcast “The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project,” which counts 40 episodes to date.

Why Comedian Anthony Jeselnik Only Uses Female Comics as Openers

Why Comedian Anthony Jeselnik Only Uses Female Comics as Openers
It may be easy to write-off Anthony Jeselnik’s stand-up material as sexist, but the star of Netflix’s “Fire in the Maternity Ward” comedy special is actually more female-friendly than audiences might assume.

Jeselnik almost exclusively hires female comedians to open for him on tour. TheWrap asked the offensive joke-teller behind “The Jeselnik Offensive” why that is, exactly.

“I want the opposite of me before I go on stage,” the comic explained. “It’s a total show and I want [the audience] to kind of be set up.”

Makes sense.

So does this: “A lot of times I’d get to town and they’d be like, ‘Oh, this guy’s been begging to open for you, he’s a big fan.’ And then the guy goes out and does my act for 15 minutes,

All Jokes Aside, Anthony Jeselnik Wants to ‘Be Fighting for the Avengers… Not for the Bad Guys’

All Jokes Aside, Anthony Jeselnik Wants to ‘Be Fighting for the Avengers… Not for the Bad Guys’
Don’t call Anthony Jeselnik a shock comic — that phrase is more derogatory and dismissive than his harshest punchline about the touchiest subject.

The veteran stand-up comedian, whose new special “Fire in the Maternity Ward” was released Tuesday on Netflix, prefers the term “villain” for his on-stage persona. Jeselnik assumes most of the audience comprehends that he’s playing a character, but the one-off “Last Comic Standing” host also genuinely doesn’t seem to care when some people don’t.

And one day, he may be more palatable to those who currently don’t “get it.”

“I think this next 10 years of my career is going to be interesting because I’ve been setting myself up as this villain,” Jeselnik told TheWrap. “But now as I get older and past 40 and get a little softer,

Nikki Glaser was more hurt by Len Goodman’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ comments than you think: He was ‘so mean to me’
Nikki Glaser was gracious and funny when she became the first person to be eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” Season 27 last week, but apparently she is not cool with how it all went down — namely with Len Goodman.

During her appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Thursday (watch above), Glaser revealed she was hurt by Goodman’s comments after her debut salsa last Monday. Glaser, who said she cannot dance and did the show to conquer her fear, had given herself a pep talk all day after sustaining an injury and felt triumphant after finishing the routine, declaring “I’m a dancer.” But Goodman promptly burst her bubble when he called the number “awkward.”

“[The judges] got mean to me. They got really mean to me. … They were so mean to me, especially Len Goodman. British, old, cranky judge. It was really hurtful and I took it in stride.

Norm Macdonald Won’t Go Pundit on His Netflix Talk Show
Norm Macdonald is giving TV another shot.

Despite having one of the most dedicated fanbases in comedy, he hasn't had a lot of success in the medium. After being famously fired from Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" desk in 1998 and failing to launch two early-2000s sitcoms (Norm, A Minute With Stan Hooper), the Canadian stand-up's career has taken some haphazard detours. He's popped up as judge on NBC's Last Comic Standing; as Colonel Sanders in a series of KFC ads; and on talk shows plugging his (semifictionalized) memoir, Based on a True Story.
