Storyline

DS Murphy is working undercover when a member of his "gang" and a mate from school days, Peter Tate, is shot on the street. The dead man's brother, Carl, is out for revenge and the police fear a gang war. Murphy manages to calm them somewhat but Carl is convinced that his brother's is a revenge killing by the Tyler family and sets out to get even. Annie Guthrie eventually joins Murphy undercover in an attempt to get closer to Carl. When Kevin Tyler is killed, the police realize that the only way to stop an all-out war is to identify who really killed Peter Tate and why. Written by garykmcd

Thought it was deep and interesting.

Now this Murphy fellow is a likable guy with lots of flaws. This episode has good character development sort of reminds me of Once Upon a Time in America. The gang from the beginning acts like bullies and continue to do just that all the way through. It is the much used right versus bad plot, but keeps you on your feet all the way through. All of the episodes I've seen seem to have the same quality. Murphy is a bit of a wolf and it endears him to the watcher. James Nesbitt is more than fabulous in this role and I believe does quite a bit a British TV as well as movies. His presence and delivery are great even though sometime a bit hard to understand. After he cracks a smile or two you forget you didn't understand what he said.
