The story takes the battle of the sexes into the hockey arena, as Paula Taymore - who almost once made the Olympic team - finds herself drawn into a challenge match against an irritating local men's squad. Fresh from a painful divorce, and doubting herself, Paula must make a winner out of an explosive, irreverent crew of women hockey players who flock to her town, Red Deer Alberta, to assemble the team.Written by
In the final match the announcer says "the third and final quarter". The parts of a hockey game are called "periods". If you played three quarters you'd never play a "full" game. It might have been a "deliberate error" as the announcer did state that she had never announced a hockey game before. See more »
to me,this movie proves that you don't need a huge budget and big special effects to be successful.this is an independent Canadian movie.i found it to be funny, entertaining and dramatic.i liked the hockey scenes, and the scenes in the locker room.the end result may or may not be realistic, but so what.the movie was charming and well written.the acting was very good from all involved,as far as a i could tell.many of the actors are probably people that many of us haven't seen too much of if at all,but that does not take away from their performances at all.i thought these performers were as good as many so called "great" Hollywood actors.this is what i would consider a great family movie, with maybe a few scenes of minor language, and nothing offensive, but parents should always use their discretion.for me "Anyone's Game"(AKA "Chicks With Sticks")is a 9/10
