End of the Spear (2005)
Young Steve Saint: If the Waodani attack, will you defend yourself? Will you use your guns?
Nate Saint: Son, we can't shoot the Waodani. They're not ready for heaven... we are.
Mincayani: Do it! I killed your father! Do it!
Steve Saint: No one took my fathers life. He gave it.
Steve Saint: It's true my dad and his four friends were not given the privilege of watching their children and grandchildren grow up. But Mincayani is a grandfather. It's the first time in Waodani history they've ever had so many grandfathers. He's not only a grandfather to his own children, he's a grandfather to mine. My dad would have liked that. Through the years people could always identify with our loss. But they could never imagine the way we would experience gain.
Nate Saint: Do you know how far away the sun is?
Young Steve Saint: 93 million miles.
Nate Saint: Do you know that that's just a fraction of how much I love you?
Nate Saint: [after being speared; speaking in the Waodani language] I am your friend.
Steve Saint: Some people say we live in a world of irreconcilable differences. Others say that true peace, lasting peace, can't be obtained because we haven't found a way yet to change the human heart.
Mincayani: You look like Dayumae. But you don't fool me. You're a spirit.
Dayumae: You look like a man. But you don't fool me. You're Mincayani.
