Highlights of the Life and Death of a Successful Artist
In 1909, Carmen Miranda was born in Marco de Canavezes, Portugal, and when she was two years old, her family moved to Brazil. In the end of the 20's, she became famous and in 1939, she moved to USA. In 05 August 1955, Carmen Miranda was 46 years old and had a fatal heart attack. Her body returned to Rio de Janeiro for her funeral.
Jorge Ileli shows highlights of the life and death of this successful artist in this documentary, together with some songs and rare footages of the movie "Banana da Terra", which is lost. This short exposes an anti-imperialist view of Carmen Miranda, informing that she was being explored by the system, using too many pills and working too much looking for dollars. My vote is seven.
