Weeklings!: Is Lady Gaga Full Of It?

We’re still three months away from the release of Lady Gaga‘s Artpop album release, but she’s hit us with some questional promotional tools in the meantime: strange artwork, a naked wilderness video with Marina Abramovic, and a weird new leaked track called “Burqa/Aura.” Time to face the music: Is Lady Gaga just full of it?

In this edition of Weeklings!, I remind you how Lady Gaga’s been full of b.s. since she artpopped onto the scene in 2008. Time to call out this superstar for what she really is: a fame monster. Wait, did she already said that? Crap.

Genre Mashup Love Sick Love Skirts Black Comedy and Farfetched Psychodrama

Genre Mashup Love Sick Love Skirts Black Comedy and Farfetched Psychodrama
When a film mashes up two seemingly unlike genres, we're too quick to praise the hybridization as a "fresh twist" or subversion of formula, even if those disparate elements aren't engaging each other thematically or aesthetically. (For instance, has anyone married zombie horror with comedy as flavorfully as Shaun of the Dead?) The fourth feature from director Christian Charles—following the Jerry Seinfeld doc Comedian, the teen dramedy Full of It, and a Cheech and Chong reunion concert—attempts to transform meet-cute romance into an absurdist fatal-attraction thriller, but ends up neither fish nor fowl. A shallow, womanizing Manhattan businessman (Matthew Settle) is warned by an office sidekick (Jim Gaffigan) that he's leading on his hot new girlfriend ...

10 Iconic Bloody Moments In Quentin Tarantino Films

Quentin Tarantino and his films are full of violence. Full of it. Whether implied or completely in your face, it’s part of what makes his films what they are. And with the director releasing arguably his most violent film yet in Django Unchained, we’re listing in no particular order, 10 of the most bloody moments in his films.

Obviously, Huge Spoilers Will Follow for every single film I mention on this list, most notably for Django Unchained.

10. Reservoir Dogs – The Ear Scene

The obvious choice when it comes to iconic bloody moments. Mr. Blonde has taken a cop hostage, under the pre tense of torturing him for information about the botched robbery they just escaped from. But we know Mr. Blonde’s crazy, and he knows that this cop know’s absolutely nothing. So he decides to cut him up whilst dancing to Stuck in the Middle With You.

Today in music videos: Netherfriends get trippy with Harry Nilsson

Last fall, Chicago-based one-man band Netherfriends released Netherfriends Does Nilsson, an album of original songs made entirely of Harry Nilsson samples. Sure, that’s a little convoluted, but it worked, especially on trippy tracks like “Full Of It,” featuring Chicago rapper Show You Suck. The video for “Full Of It,” released just this week, is made up of clips from the animated movie The Point!, which Nilsson famously came up with while tripping balls. It’s a colorful, angular companion to track that’s pretty psychedelic in its own right. In fact, it’s the perfect cut to play for ...

Set Visit: The Change-Up - Part 1

To be perfectly honest with you, when I first heard about the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy The Change-Up, I was rather skeptical, even with some A-list talent attached in front of and behind the camera. It's a body-switching movie, which evoked 1980s memories of movies such as Like Father, Like Son, Vice Versa, and even Big, to a certain extent. It's a genre we haven't seen explored in years, with the last prominent example being the Disney remake Freaky Friday, which launched Lindsay Lohan into the stratosphere of stardom. The folks at Universal Pictures invited me to the set of The Change-Up back in January of this year, and, despite my initial trepidations about the movie, which opens in theaters nationwide on August 5, I was sold on the comedy after leaving the set.

For those who might not be familiar with The Change-Up, or who haven't seen the trailer (or

Eva Longoria And Nicollette Sheridan

Eva Sources Say Nicollette Sheridan is Full of It

Eva Longoria wasn't surprised at TMZ's story that her boss made a crack at her wedding -- insinuating Tony Parker was gay -- that's because Marc Cherry blurted it out for everyone to hear.

Nicollette Sheridan -- who is suing Cherry for giving her the boot on "Desperate Housewives" -- accused Cherry in in a deposition of saying, "Tony must like boys if he is marrying this -- this little, small girl with no t*ts, that looks like a boy."

Sources who were present at the wedding tell us Cherry unloaded the comment loudly and proudly ... for all 300 guests to hear. In other words, our sources say Sheridan is grossly misleading the judge by insinuating the comment was meant in a serious and mean-spirited way.

In fact, we're told Eva ...

13 Prolific Screenwriters Whose Faces You'd Never Recognize (Or Why Screenwriters Don't Appear on Camera) | A Pictorial

  • Pajiba
With the amount of trade news we write, there are certain screenwriters that we tend to see frequently -- on some days, it feels like every Hollywood studio project is being divided up among 15 men (there are sadly no women on this list; the few notable female screenwriters tend to be better known as directors, and I've excluded those known more for their directing work, as they are more recognizable).

Truth is, I had no idea what most of these guys looked like until I compiled this list. Most people who follow the industry probably know what John August looks like (the guy behind a lot of Tim Burton's films) and maybe William Monahan, but few would recognize many of those behind the movies that pollute our multiplexes look like.

So, for the curious among you, here are 13 currently prolific screenwriters whose faces you've probably never seen, but whose

Meg Whitman: My Maid’s Full of It

Meg Whitman: My Maid's Full of It

Meg Whitman's campaign just gave us documents suggesting that her former maid, Nicky Diaz Santillan, actually lied to Meg about her immigration status when she was hired back in 2000.

The documents, which Whitman claims Nicky filled out and signed back in 2000 during her application for employment, appear to show that the maid stated under the penalty of perjury that she was a "lawful permanent resident" of the United States.

Whitman also claims Nicky provided her with a social security card and valid California Driver's License with her employment application ... which Meg kept and has now handed over to TMZ.

Whitman has also issued a statement on the matter, saying ... "After 9 years of faithful service, Nicky came to us in June 2009 and confessed that she was an illegal worker." Whitman continues, "Nicky has falsified the hiring documents and personal information she provided to the

The stories about Lindsay Lohan dirty dancing last night with Dominic Cooper make a little more sense now. Reports surfaced on HollywoodLife.com this morning that Lindsay and Dom were getting super close at the Belvedere party at Cannes last night. They were really playful with each other.” Embassy Confirms That Lindsay Lohan is Full of It Now we hear via Us Weekly that Amanda Seyfried and Cooper are on...

Blog Trends from My Bunk 01/11/10

I seem to recall that when the Producers Guild nominations were announced recently there was a lot of excited noise around the web regarding the representation of science fiction films in the Best Picture category. Some people spouted frustration, still, that Moon wasn't one of the nominees along with Star Trek, Avatar and District 9, but you just can't please everyone.

Yet today, with announcement of the Writers Guild nominations, nobody seems at all satisfied with the choices for either the original or adapted screenplay categories. Why? Mostly because of the inclusion of certain science fiction films, namely Star Trek and Avatar, the latter of which coincidentally has just become available online in script form (including a deleted sex scene).

But the movie receiving the most stunned reactions is The Hangover. I'll agree, the nomination does seem odd considering it's no better than tons of other comedies released each year

How Will The Writer's Guild Feel In The Morning?

How Will The Writer's Guild Feel In The Morning?
The somewhat tainted Writers Guild of America nominees were announced today. With at least nine disqualified screenplays - 4 or 5 of which happen to be major Oscar contenders - the WGA allowed a few films to be put into the conversation while swatting down a few more noble, interesting and challenging efforts in order to make room for one of the worst comedic screenplays of 2009.

With Inglourious Basterds and Up out of the picture in the Original Screenplay category, we expected and were delivered nominations for (500) Days of Summer (by Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber), The Hurt Locker (by Mark Boal) and A Serious Man (by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen). Of all the impressive things the supporters of Avatar claim about the billion-dollar blockbuster, the last thing that rolls off their tongues is James Cameron's screenplay. Well now they can play the nomination card on us all as this WGA

Michelle Phillips Says Mackenzie Is Full of It

  • Celebuzz
Hey, remember yesterday, when Mackenzie Phillips shocked the world by claiming that she'd had an incestuous relationship with her late father, The Mamas and the Papas founder John Phillips? Yeah, well, not so fast. Phillips' stepmother, Michelle Phillips—who was married to Papa John from 1962 to 1970—is thoroughly refuting Mackenzie's claims in an interview with Showbiz 411. The elder Phillips notes that, in 1997, Mackenzie told all of her family members about the alleged relationship with her father, but then quickly contacted Michelle again to issue a "just kidding" disclaimer: “She told me [about the supposed incestuous relationship], then she called me back and...
