Boney Kapoor originally offered the role of Sunny to Saif Ali Khan while he was still working on Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003). Saif preferred the role of Kishen but eventually declined.

After shooting for a few days,Anees Bazmee realized that Fardeen Khan's comic timing was slightly off and not matching the rest of the cast. He saw that his reactions were delayed and not in sync with everybody else. Not wanting to replace him, decided to change the character. The character was now slow and reacted a little late to everything said to him. His responses were also with a slight delay.

Film was remade scene to scene in Marathi as No Entry Pudhe Dokha Haye 2012 directed by Ankush Chaudhari who also played the lead alongside superstar Bharat Jhadav.Also the character names were same in the film as from original.

Boney Kapoor was in debts with distributors during its release and they had decided not to release the film until the debts are cleared.Ticket booking of the film was also pushed ahead due to this.Finally Salman Khan came forward to help Boney Kapoor who earned much more then he invested.
