Ellen Page supports transgender people

Actress Ellen Page says it's time to "step up" to support transgender people.

"We need to realise that a lot of the most marginalised people in our community have been left behind. We need to step up for trans people because they are under attack," Page, who is married to Canadian dancer Emma Portner, told Gay Times magazine.?

The Juno star decided to speak out after lesbian tennis player Martina Navratilova was fired from a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer (Lgbtq) charity last week for making transphobic comments against transgender female athletes, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"A man can decide to be female, take hormones if required by whatever sporting organisation is concerned, win everything in sight and perhaps earn a small fortune, and then reverse his decision and go back to making babies," Navratilova said.

Responding to those comments, Page slammed the sporting star for letting history repeat itself,

Melissa McCarthy Supports Ghostbusters 3: I'm All for It
Melissa McCarthy says that she is "all for" Jason Reitman's upcoming Ghostbusters 3. The movie is taking the 2016 reboot, which McCarthy starred in, and forgetting that it ever happened. The all-female reboot was not well-received when it hit theaters, though audiences are okay with it now, giving the movie a 74% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, there are some fans of the 2016 reboot that believe Reitman is wrong to completely ignore the movie with the highly anticipated sequel.

Melissa McCarthy is not a fan that fits into the negative category. The actress says that she has no problem with Jason Reitman's comments on taking the franchise back to fans, which he contends were misconstrued. McCarthy revealed that she has talked to Reitman and had nothing but good things to say about him and Ghostbusters 3. She explains.

"I'm for anybody who's making movies. I talked to Jason about it, he's just always had this idea,

Ellen Page Says Hollywood Pressured Her to Stay in the Closet for Years
Ellen Page came out in 2014, by which point she’d already known she was a lesbian for several years. So did others in Hollywood, and in a new interview for Porter the “Umbrella Academy” star says that many within the film industry pressured her to keep that truth to herself: “I was distinctly told, by people in the industry, when I started to become known: ‘People cannot know you’re gay.’”

“And I was pressured — forced, in many cases — to always wear dresses and heels for events and photo shoots,” added Page, an Oscar nominee for her role in “Juno.” “As if lesbians don’t wear dresses and heels. But I will never let anyone put me in anything I feel uncomfortable in ever again.”

Page has become an outspoken advocate for Lgbtq issues in recent years, most recently calling out Chris Pratt for attending what she describes as an

Jussie Smollett Doubters See Validation in False Report Charge
The news Wednesday that Jussie Smollett has been charged with filing a false police report had many in the conservative media world who doubted the account criticizing those who didn’t.

“I’m relieved no actual hate crime against anyone who is black or gay was commited [sic],” Stephen Miller, a right-leaning media critic told TheWrap. “Activists in media and the left don’t seem so relieved. Which is telling.”

“I look forward to Ellen Page’s next appearance on Colbert,” Miller added, referring to the “Juno” star’s recent interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” in which she blamed Vice President Mike Pence for Smollett’s supposed attack.

Ghostbusters 3: Jason Reitman Promises to 'Hand Movie' to Fans, Internet Disapproves

David Crow Feb 21, 2019

Director Jason Reitman says Ghostbusters 3 will "hand movie back to fans." Leading some to ask, how was it ever taken away?

There’s been a lot of trepidation around approaching Ghostbusters—like at all in conversation—over the last few years. As you might recall, director Paul Feig attempted to update the original film with a remake that starred four hilarious women in 2016. The internet—or at least vocal and virulent voices, many stirred by misogynistic outrage—did not take it well. As a consequence, Sony fast-tracked a more traditional Ghostbusters 3, one directed by Jason Reitman, the son of the original films’ helmer. Nevertheless, as Jason Reitman makes his intentions to please “the fans” known, different quarters of the internet seem fairly displeased today as well.

The news comes via Reitman appearing on the most recent episode of Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast. Chatting about his new project,

Ghostbusters 3 Shoot Targets Early Summer Start Date?

Ghostbusters 3 Shoot Targets Early Summer Start Date?
Ghostbusters 3 isn't wasting any time, as production is set to begin this spring, according to a new report. We only learned of the sequel last month, which comes from Jason Reitman, son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman. Sony is eager to get the project off the ground and they've already locked down a summer 2020 release date. Now, we have word that filming will be getting underway in just a few short months.

Before we get too excited, this information isn't coming directly from the studio, so we should caution that up front. That said, a new report states that Ghostbusters 3 is currently eyeing a May 13 start date. That may seem like a quick turnaround for such a major summer blockbuster, but Jason Reitman and the studio have been putting this together behind the scenes, rather quietly, for some time. Reitman even shot a Ghostbusters 3 teaser trailer that was revealed

Chris Pratt Denies Ellen Page’s Anti-lgbtq Church Claim: ‘My Values Define Who I Am’

Chris Pratt Denies Ellen Page’s Anti-lgbtq Church Claim: ‘My Values Define Who I Am’
Chris Pratt has responded to Ellen Page after the “Juno” Oscar nominee called out the actor for attending an “infamously anti-lgbtq church.” Page was reacting to an interview Pratt gave on CBS’ “The Late Show” in which he spoke with host Stephen Colbert about a recent religious-inspired fast he recently undertook. Page wrote on Twitter, “Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?”

In a statement posted to his Instagram story, Pratt responded, “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates people’ and is ‘infamously anti-Lgbtq.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone.”

“My church is important to me but no church defines me or my life,” Pratt continued. “I am not a spokesperson for any group of people. My values define who I am.

Ellen Page Calls Out Chris Pratt for Attending ‘Infamously Anti-Lgbtq’ Church
Ellen Page on Thursday criticized Chris Pratt for attending a “infamously anti-Lgbtq” church after he appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and discussed his religious side.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star sat down with Colbert to promote “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” and Pratt said he just finished a 21-day Daniel Fast that he took part in through his church and that his pastor encouraged. He also said the pastor shared with him words of wisdom about balancing fame and his inner self.

“If the spotlight that is shining on you is brighter than the light that’s within you, it will kill you,” Pratt recounted to Colbert.

Page tweeted about the appearance and the pastor shortly after, writing, “Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?”

Ghostbusters 3 Audition Tapes Tease One Of The New Characters

While many of us assumed upon the announcement that Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters 3 would see the torch pass to a new generation of leads, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the next set of busters will be a fair bit younger than we initially anticipated.

Earlier this month, the word got out that one of the main characters in the upcoming sequel will be a 12-year-old girl with an interest in science. Sure enough, Hn Entertainment has now reported of some unearthed audition tapes which reveal that 12-year-old Sarah Abbott has tried out for a part that seems to fit with the previously leaked description. The young Canadian actress is perhaps best known for appearing in the 2017 Black Mirror episode “Arkangel,” and is also set to play a role in the upcoming horror movie The Silence.
