Set in Cornwall, Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe, who works along with his colleagues DI Doug Kersey and DI Lucy Lane, investigates murder cases with his trademark determination and clinical accuracy.

Series 1 follows Ben Coulter who is accused of committing a crime that he has no recollection of after a drunken and drug-filled night out. Series 2 follows Juliet through the criminal justice system after she stabs her abusive husband.
My wife and I made it through all 8 episodes. We were disappointed because its rating suggested a pretty good series. The plots were mostly implausible and, in some cases, ridiculous. The idea that Vincent was a lady's man and could appeal to much younger and more attractive women just didn't work. In many episodes the PI team dealt with violent, unscrupulous criminals, but the team kept going with no police involvement. Also, it wasn't clear where the money to fund 5 people full-time was coming from. The series deserves a much lower rating. Don't waste your time on it.
