The Andromeda Strain Available on Blu-ray June 4th From Arrow Video

The Andromeda Strain (1971) will be available on Blu-ray June 4th From Arrow Video

Before he created Westworld and Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton first blurred the line between science fiction and science fact with his breakout success The Andromeda Strain. Two years after the novel s publication, Robert Wise (The Haunting) directed the film adaptation, a nail-biting blend of clinically-realised docudrama and astonishing sci-fi visuals that ushered in a new subgenre: the killer virus biological thriller.

A government satellite crashes outside a small town in New Mexico and within minutes, every inhabitant of the town is dead, except for a crying baby and an elderly derelict. The satellite and the two survivors are sent to Wildfire, a top-secret underground laboratory equipped with a nuclear self-destruct mechanism to prevent the spread of infection in case of an outbreak. Realizing that the satellite brought back a lethal organism from another world, a team

Google Searches For ‘Cancel HBO’ Spiked After Game Of Thrones Finale

More and more people are canceling their HBO subscriptions in the wake of Game of Thrones season 8.

As reported by Bgr (h/t ComicBook.com), Google searches for “cancel HBO” witnessed a sizeable spike after Sunday’s series finale, “The Iron Throne.” And while it’s nigh on certain that a number of subscribers will reach for the cancel button once their favorite show has come to an end, given the divisive nature of season 8’s swan song, there may be more to this data than meets the eye.

For one, it’s the highest surge in search results for ‘cancel HBO’ since Game of Thrones began – again, this is to be expected, given the main Thrones saga is done and dusted – while the second biggest spike corresponds to the end of season 7. Unfortunately, Google Trends only yields raw search data, meaning it’s impossible to know exactly how many

‘Watchmen': Everything We Know About Damon Lindelof’s ‘Remixed’ Version of Alan Moore Comic for HBO

‘Watchmen': Everything We Know About Damon Lindelof’s ‘Remixed’ Version of Alan Moore Comic for HBO
Now that “Game of Thrones” is in HBO’s rear-view mirror, the cable network is about to leap into the comic-book world, taking on the Herculean task of adapting one of the most revered properties in pop culture history: Alan Moore’s “Watchmen.”

DC Comics published the graphic novel, which was written by Moore, along with artist Dave Gibbons and colorist John Higgins, in 1986.

The comic was set in an alternate 1985 at the height of the Cold War, where Richard Nixon is still president and costumed heroes roam the streets. In this world, superheroes have been around since the 1940s but have either been outlawed or under government control. The story revolves around a group of mostly retired American superheroes who investigate the murder of one of their own, only to uncover a conspiracy.

Game Of Thrones Star Correctly Predicted The Finale Two Years Ago

Few could’ve predicted that Bran Stark of Winterfell would wind up on the Iron Throne.

And yet, when Game of Thrones reached its long-anticipated series finale on Sunday evening with “The Iron Throne,” it was Isaac Hempstead Wright’s cripple who was crowned king of the seven six kingdoms, much to the surprise of, well, everyone – Wright included.

Everyone except Gwendoline Christie, that is, who correctly predicted the ‘winner’ of HBO’s Game of Thrones two whole years ago, when she sat down for an interview with Extra TV and her on-screen muse, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The full clip is embedded below, which also features Mario Lopez of Saved By the Bell fame dishing out the questions.

“But don’t you think it’s going to be someone out of left field, don’t you feel that those seem like the obvious choice?” the actress asked. “What we know about

HBO Programming Chief on ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale: ‘This Was Well Thought Out’

HBO Programming Chief on ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale: ‘This Was Well Thought Out’
Not everyone is satisfied with the way that “Game of Thrones” ended Sunday night. And that, according to HBO programming president Casey Bloys, was to be expected.

Speaking to Variety, Bloys praised series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for their work bringing the premium service’s adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novels to a close.

“I think the guys did a great job,” Bloys said. “It’s always sad when a show departs, but that’s part of the TV life cycle, and life moves on. But obviously we’re really proud of the show.”

That pride holds up in the face of griping on social media about the finale. The end of the show has sharply divided its fans.

“I think to a certain extent it was expected that for a show this big, there’s no way you’re going to please everybody” Bloys said.

After Game of Thrones: what on Westeros should we do now?

The end of GoT isn’t just the end of a show. It’s the end of gorging ourselves silly, collectively. Will anything ever fill this buzz vacuum?

Game of Thrones finale recap – The Iron Throne

Game of Thrones review – final epic episode corrects some major wrongs

In the dying days of Game of Thrones, it’s fair to say that HBO got a little needy. With the palpable flopsweat of a soon-to-be-dumped lover, it broke its back showing everyone all the other great shows they could watch if only they stayed subscribed.

Like richly-drawn prestige ensembles? Big Little Lies is coming back, this time with Meryl Streep! Like snow and magic? Look, it’s His Dark Materials! Like Westworld? No, of course you don’t, nobody likes Westworld. But here’s a trailer for season three, and it doesn’t even look like Westworld any more! It looks like

Freeze All Motor Functions and Watch the First Teaser For Westworld Season 3
Westworld is back, and it looks like the action in season three is going to introduce a ton of new stories and transport us to new, eye-popping destinations.

In the brief teaser for the third season, we meet Aaron Paul's nameless thief in the regular world, outside of the park, who seems to be disillusioned with society at large. Of course, he has a chance meeting with a wounded woman in an alley - aka Dolores herself (Evan Rachel Wood) - at the end of the footage that makes us think he has an adventure ahead of him.

Joining Wood and Paul in the next season are new cast members Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, and more, and the trailer confirms that season three will drop at some point in 2020. Fingers crossed it comes sooner than later!

New Abortion Ban Laws Take Center Stage at Moca Gala

  • Variety
Forty years ago in Los Angeles, the decision to invest millions in a museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary art — not to mention its formerly desolate downtown location, where the vibe was more apocalyptic than artsy — was a risky proposition. But now that the city’s cultural heart has shifted south of Hollywood, it seems visionary.

And thanks to the Museum of Contemporary Art’s new director Klaus Biesenbach, what once seemed bound to be a big flop was buzzy on Saturday night, with the Moca Benefit gala attracting an eclectic crowd that included punk rockers (Patti Smith) and politicians (Mayor Eric Garcetti) as well as pop stars (Katy Perry and Ricky Martin) and leading men (Keanu Reeves and Orlando Bloom) to its benefit.

“I’m excited about Klaus leading the museum because he has a vision and he’s someone who is willing to take risks,” said the Mayor of

Tons Of Game Of Thrones Fans Now Cancelling Their HBO Subscriptions

Game of Thrones fans are an excitable bunch aren’t they? I mean we. Aren’t we?

Thronies have waited with bated breath each week for Sunday to roll around, and each spring every year for the show to return. We go stark-(heh)-raving mad over coffee cups and water bottles, and pretty much every moment in season 8 not only broke Twitter, but the whole damn internet, too.

Now, though, viewers of the show are excited about something a little different. They’re cancelling their HBO subscriptions, and having some social media fun while doing it, too. Because why do something without meme’ing about it, right? It would be un-American not to! Personally, I only cancelled my free trial for HBO Now, so the execs’ paychecks won’t be taking too much of a hit there.

HBO probably doesn’t have Too much to worry about though. They
