TV Talk Podcast: Who Is In Line To Win This Year’s Lead Actor Drama Series Emmy?
We take on the Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy race in this week’s edition of Deadline’s TV Talk podcast. One thing we agree on for sure: there will not be a repeat of the outcome last year, when Matthew Rhys finally won for The Americans in its sixth and final season.

Now, that doesn’t mean we won’t have a repeat winner in this category since Sterling K. Brown, who won the previous year for This Is Us and was nominated last year, is again eligible and likely to show up. Possible repeat nominees could include his co-star Milo Ventimiglia as well as Jason Bateman for Ozark. Bateman could have the inside track as he won the SAG Award for the series in January and has momentum to pick up his first Emmy for the Netflix series.

With both Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright ineligible

Ralph Macchio on the One Way ‘Cobra Kai’ May Never Call Back to ‘Karate Kid’

YouTube’s “Cobra Kai” is full of flashbacks and callbacks to “The Karate Kid.” There is one perfect piece of audio nostalgia that hasn’t been implemented into the sequel series yet — and star/executive producer Ralph Macchio tells TheWrap it may never be.

“‘The Best Around’ is the one piece that the three writers always toy with, and it’s the one place they feel — to this point, now, who knows seasons down the line — to this point, it has been parodied and used so much that it would take you actually out of the show,” Macchio told us of the All-Valley Karate Tournament anthem. “Like, it is the line in the sand of when the nostalgia or the Easter eggs or the callbacks could go too far and hurt the fabric of the show.”

It won’t hurt to remember the classic Joe Esposito ditty during the classic ’80s-movie montage below.

‘Deadwood’ Rides Again

‘Deadwood’ Rides Again
Bullets are about to fly across Deadwood’s muddy thoroughfare. But first, poetry.

It’s a crisp November morning at Melody Ranch, the venerable Santa Clarita studio that’s been home to everything from squeaky-clean Gene Autry Westerns to Django Unchained and Westworld. The picaresque main street has been dressed to recapture the look it had for three years in the mid-2000s, when it was home to one of the greatest TV dramas ever made: HBO’s Deadwood, a gorgeously profane meditation on the American experiment and the painful

New Featurette for HBO's Chernobyl Focuses on the Huge Scale of the Production

Having had a fascination with the history of the horrific Chernobyl nuclear meltdown disaster, I’m looking forward to this new Chernobyl series being produced by HBO.

Today we have a featurette for the five-part miniseries to share with you that focuses on the massive scale of the production. As you’ll see, the creative team went all out to tell this story. They details they put into bringing it to life it pretty incredible. The video also dives deeper into the story.

On April 26th, 1986, there was an explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union, and that explosion caused the release of radioactive material across Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe. Chernobyl dramatizes this story of “one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history — and the sacrifices made to save Europe from unimaginable disaster.”

Renée Zellweger Plays a Dangerous Game in Netflix’s ‘What/If’ Teaser (Video)

  • The Wrap
Netflix has released a teaser for its upcoming anthology series “What/If” — and from the looks of it, everyone is just a pawn in Renée Zellweger’s chess game.

“What if I made you an offer too extraordinary to refuse?” Zellweger says in the teaser. “For anything, and anyone, to be yours for the taking. The players are all arranged. What would you risk for a chance to have it all?”

She’s later shown dangling a pawn and then dropping it, revealing a board of toppled-over chess pieces.

Premiering May 24, “What/If” stars Zellweger as Anne, described as a mysterious woman who makes a lucrative but dubious offer to a cash-strapped pair of San Francisco newlyweds. The 10-episode neo-noir social thriller explores what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things, with each season looking at a different tale of morality, per Netflix.

Westworld Will ‘Re-Open’ In 2020

While we will sadly be saying good-bye to HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” we have now learned that “Westworld” will be re-opening in 2020, which definitely gives us something to look forward to next year. It is a fairly long time to wait, but we are sure that it is going to be well worth it in the end!

In an interview with Deadline, HBO’s president Casey Bloys confirmed that the series will not be back until 2020, but did not reveal any additional details about the direction of the upcoming season which is currently being filmed.

We have also learned that there will be two new humans (non-robot) joining the series with Lena Waithe and Aaron Paul, who recently confessed to being a huge fan of the series since season one and teased his role as being “dangerous and gory”.

Many people were wondering about the future of the network

General Hospital's Tk Weaver Nominated for a 2019 Young Artist Award

Congratulations to young General Hospital actor Tk Weaver (Danny), who has been nominated for Best Performance in a TV Series in the Recurring Young Actor category for the 2019 Young Artist Awards! “Thank you, Young Artist Awards,” he posted to Instagram. “Honored to be nominated again for my role of Danny Morgan on Gh. I love the character and I’m so glad that you all love him, too.” Weaver made his debut as Jason and Sam’s son in May of 2016, and immediately earned tons of loyal fans for his work as Danny Morgan. In 2018, the talented performer was nominated in two separate categories at the Young Artist Awards, but while he didn’t win for his work in a Subaru Impreza commercial, Weaver took home the trophy for his terrific work on Gh as Danny struggled with the revelation that the man he’d thought to be his father was actually his uncle.

Westworld Season 3 is a Ways Away but Here’s What we Know about It

Like Luke Hutchinson from ScreenRant says it’s going to be a while before we see Westworld come back, but season 3 is coming all the same since it’s HBO’s answer to ‘what’s next’ after Game of Thrones is all over and done with. Perhaps the most confusing thing about the show is thinking what’s left at this point since the hosts have been running roughshod on a lot of the guests and the whole idea of them escaping seems to eliminate the whole point of the show. But thankfully there’s more to it than that and there are a whole

Batman Introduces Himself To Jim Gordon in Trailer For The Gotham Series Finale and First Look at the New Catwoman

Now that Disney owns Fox, I just realized that DC’s Gotham is officially part of the Disney family in a way, so that’s interesting. Anyway, the end of Gotham is near. The final episode is set to air this week and we have a trailer to share with you for it!

The new trailer features a lot of exciting new footage, but the coolest part for me was finally seeing Batman introduce himself to Jim Gordon, telling him in a raspy deep Batman voice, “I am not your enemy.”

The season finale is set 10 years in the future and as a result there was one big casting change. Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman actress, Camren Bicondova, stepped down from the role. This was a decision that she made because she felt it was the right move for the characters evolution. She posted a lengthy explanation of her decision on Twitter.

The Essential ‘Game of Thrones’ Theories We Need Resolved in the Final Season

Fair warning: This post has spoilers through A Dance with Dragons and Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 1, 'Winter Is Here'. Fan theories, amiright? What a bunch of bull. Except... not so much these days. If Westworld proved one thing for certain, it's that the combined power nerd power of the internet can crack any case. And Game of Thrones has a pretty incredible track record of well-guessed fan theories, and those fans have been theorizing about for George R.R. Martin's addictive fantasy epic for decades now. Even before the HBO series became a titanic …

Sesame Street Takes on Game of Thrones and Westworld in Awesome New Videos

I don’t know as I’d go as far to say that the two videos showed by Jenna Anderson of ComicBook are as awesome as some folks want to believe, but they do show a good point for those that might want their kids to learn a few things. The only confusing part is why Sesame Street and HBO would team up to do so in shows like Westworld and Game of Thrones, where respect is typically a grudging thing that doesn’t come easily. Honestly, I get it, the whole idea of respecting one another is a great idea and a

‘Gotham’ Star Camren Bicondova Will Cede Catwoman Role In Series Finale Recast

  • Deadline
‘Gotham’ Star Camren Bicondova Will Cede Catwoman Role In Series Finale Recast
Camren Bicondova, who has played Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, on Fox’s Gotham for the past five years, said a new actress will assume the character for the last episode of the series, which airs April 25.

Bicondova said in a tweet that the decision was hers, as she detailed the reasons in a lengthy post. The upcoming episode features a ten-year time skip. Bicondova apparently didn’t feel right about playing an older version of the cat burglar, so ceded the role to Lili Simmons, who has appeared in Westworld and The Purge.

The American crime drama was developed by Bruno Heller and premiered on Sept. 22, 2014. The series creators originally intended to focus on Jim Gordon’s early days with the Gotham Pd, but then introduced Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) and reviewed the origin stories of several Batman villains, including the Penguin, Riddler, Mr. Freeze and Catwoman.

Bicondova’s post:

Will the main 7 ‘Game of Thrones’ stars all get Emmy nominations?

Will the main 7 ‘Game of Thrones’ stars all get Emmy nominations?
The massive “Game of Thrones” cast has undergone numerous permutations over eight seasons, but for a while now the show and storylines have focused on a core septet of stars, all of whom have been in Westeros since the beginning: Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner. All seven have never been nominated at the Emmys in the same year before, but could this final season be the lucky one for them?

If you go by our odds, yes. All seven are predicted to make the cut this year across four categories, Best Drama Actress, Best Drama Actor, Best Drama Supporting Actress and Best Drama Supporting Actor.

Of them, the biggest lock of locks is Dinklage, who’s going for his record-breaking eighth nomination and fourth win in the supporting category; he’s currently in a tie at three with Aaron Paul

Cookie Monster Helps ‘Westworld’ Residents Dolores and Bernard Understand Each Other – Using Cookies (Video)
While Elmo is busy fixing the problems in Westeros, his friend Cookie Monster is tackling the Hosts vs. humans dilemma over in Westworld.

In HBO’s adorable new crossover video between “Sesame Street” and “Westworld,” directed by the sci-fi series’ co-creator Lisa Joy, the blue Muppet obsessed with sweet “delights” interrupts an intense discussion between Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) to try and help bring peace between the two. And he does so using cookies — obviously.

Cookie Monster came all the way from Sesame Street, er — “SesameWorld” looking for cookies and he got lost in the “maze” (of course) and found Dolores and Bernard, who aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

“We’ll never agree, we’re too different,” the leader of the Host rebellion says.
