Storyline

Pahwa is a film buff. He watches every new release in the night show on the first day itself. Just as he readies himself to visit a nearby theatre to catch the new release Darna Mana Hai, his mother cautions him against taking the route via the graveyard. It also happens to be Friday the 13th and Amavas ki raat (new moon). Pahwa dismisses his mother's plea since he doesn't believe in ghosts and goes through the graveyard, making fun of the dead and hitting a tree in the cemetery. The movie is boring and ends with no incident, but on the way back, for some reason he's a little more nervous than usual. He hears strange noises and someone seems to be pursuing him. Not so scary, but interesting.
8 January 2020 | by Anonymous002See all my reviews

One problem with Indian horror films is that they try to scare by ugly faces, evil laughs to a point that they stop looking scary at all. This movie is an improvement in that front but unfortunately uses same old ghost stories for that purpose.

The main things makes horror films great is the setting. The atmosphere and Background score together can create a feeling in mind of audiences. This film has six segments directed by six directors and are unrelated to each other. In first two, music is used very well to create an effect. But, that is not the case with others. Third one is not scary. Fourth one gives away everything in a few minutes. Fifth is funny rather than scary but fits well with the overall story. Sixth, that's supposed to be a surprise. Before these six, there is an intro part directed by Sajid Khan which leaves a negative impression on the viewers immediately. RGV could have edited that out.

I can say this is something new but not path breaking. You will not be bored, but don't expect it to be scary. Do watch for everyone's acting. If you want to explore new genres, this one is for you.
