Storyline

Five strangers find themselves trapped in an elevator of a luxurious hotel, witnessing the death of a former government official. Just before he dies, he claims that he has been poisoned and urges the five strangers to seek out and expose his killers. They must solve the mystery, that started several years ago. The bond between them will grow strong, and maybe, in the end, they can discover that somehow their presence in the elevator at that particular moment, was more than "accidental"... Trivia

After the series finale, creator/writer/actor of the series Giorgos Kapoutzidis admitted he was not very positive about the actress Smaragda Karydi playing the role of Dalia. He had imagined the character of Dalia as a middle aged woman and was going to propose the role to actress Katia Dandoulaki, whom he is a fan of. When Karydi was finally cast for the role, Kapoutzidis had to make changes to the script so that the character of Dalia would be younger than originally planned. See more »

Spiros: Uncle Yorgos from Toronto is here.
Sofia: OK, you should go see him.
Spiros: Are you serious? You won't be coming to see him?
Sofia: He didn't even come at your parents' funeral.
Spiros: He was in Canada when that happened!
Sofia: That's got nothing to with it! He was your father's brother!
Theopoula: Your grandmother is right. He could have come to Athens, just like he went to Canada from Toronto!

One of the best Greek TV Series Ever!!!
30 December 2005 | by phd87See all my reviews

"Sto Para Pente" is a series about the mystery that five completely different people must solve, when a government official is murdered in front of their eyes.

The secret of the show's success, is not only the extraordinary performances of the cast or the directors' work. It is one of the few TV shows that relies on clever lines, mystery and well-written dialogs, instead of yelling, screaming and vulgar language used by most Greek hit TV shows. Yorgos Kapoutzidis, whose last work was another hit TV show, "Savvatogennimenes", has done a great job creating a story so original, yet so familiar (due to his references to various Greek B&W movies). Humour, as well as mystery and adventure, join forces to create one of the best Greek TV shows ever created.

All the performances are truly terrific, but the characters of Dalia and Theopoula (played by Smaragda Karydi and Efi Papatheodorou, respectively) steal the show. The director has done an excellent work and the song featured in the opening credits is one you really can't get out of your mind. The rest of the cast does an excellent job and the guest stars add up to the mystery. A show that can't be missed!
