  • Determined to escape their poverty-stricken lives, four talented young women living on the underprivileged outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil, form an all-female rap group but find their road to success is riddled with sexism, racism, and violence. One by one, they succumb to their grim realities. Until they discover that out of struggle come strength, and out of strength, the courage to continue on.

  • Four young black women live in the neighborhood of Brasilandia, in the underprivileged outskirts of Sao Paulo, and fight for the dream of making a living with their music. Friends since childhood, Preta, Barbarah, Mayah and Lena constantly need to fight against poverty, violence and sexism. They succumb to their grim realities, but end up gathering the pieces of the group and regaining the joy of singing together.
