Fester's been sly and secretive lately, more than usual, and has also taken to intercepting the daily newspaper deliveries. He's been scanning the lonely hearts columns looking for a bride. Fester finally fesses up and writes a letter, with Gomez happy to snap the picture to adjoin it. Days pass without a response. When Miss Carver appears at the door, she's mistaken for Fester's correspondent - a desperate wanna-be housewife with suitcase in hand ready to move in. She's actually a door-to-door cosmetics saleswoman, and her smooth and mildly seductive sales pitch, with a 90-day plan to make over Fester, is mistaken for a callous disregard in matters of the heart. When she discovers what she's been mistaken for, she flees, never to return. Written by statmanjeff

Miss Carver: [with utmost professional charm] That gentleman behind you is Uncle Fester. I know from the description I received.
Uncle Fester Frump: [dreading a forced marriage] You can't force me!
Miss Carver: I never use force, just gentle persuasion. And sometimes in difficult cases I merely give a free sample and leave the prospect to think it over.
Morticia Frump Addams: Miss Carver! We don't continence such behavior in this house.
Miss Carver: Well, then I'll be happy to accept cash.

Sight gags and misunderstandings
19 July 2009 | by iksnyzcarSee all my reviews

I remember watching the Adams Family reruns in the morning when I was a kid and stayed home from school sick. Now as and adult I get the chance to see them again thanks to IMDb.

Most of the episode's followed the same pattern, cheesy sight gags and a lot of misunderstandings. When you have a show like this it is not necessarily a bad thing. This episode follows the same tried and true formula. If you seen any other episode you know what to expect.

This episode is about uncle Fester trying to get a mail order wife. The jokes are hit and miss but over all it was a fun episode and worth a watch if you need to kill 25 minutes.
