At the end of this episode, Cmdr. Sinclair and Dr. Franklin are discussing the possibility that Sinclair may have witnessed a supernatural event. Franklin warns, "Careful. That kind of talk can get you sent on a long vacation," implying that it would make the commander sound crazy. At the time, the actor playing Sinclair, Michael O'Hare, was struggling with schizophrenia and actually ended up taking a "long vacation" at the end of the season, leaving the series because his health issues became too overwhelming. Placing the needs of his team ahead of his own, he encouraged them to continue production without him even though the show runner offered to pause production to allow him time to recover.
