Peyton Alice
28 February 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

It's Audrey Meadows who hires the Checkmate organization to protect her person from the many in her small hometown who might want to kill her. Alice plays a Grace Metalious like novelist who has written a Peyton Place like expose. The names may have been changed but the people know exactly who she was talking about.

Her new novel is also set in her old hometown and its about a twenty year old unsolved homicide. Seems as though Meadows has played detective and just might have figured it out.

If you think you'll be seeing a second version of drab homemaker Alice Kramden you're in for a big surprise. Audrey is chic and sophisticated and miles from Jackie Gleason's loyal, but caustic wife. She's a handful for Anthony George and Doug McClure to protect.

In fact Meadows is the main reason to watch this episode.
