Excavation of a building erected in 1969 reveals two skeletons, one black male, one white female. Remains of clothing and ID's lead to a revolutionary group during that Summer of Love. The couple were volunteers who were taking pregnant girls to receive abortions from an activist physician just before they disappeared. Rush and her team must sort out many possible suspects and motives: jealous boyfriends, racism, rumored FBI informers, and the ALF (Afrikaner Liberation Front) among others. Written by jeaneva

During an interview with Adam Clark as both he and Lilly are smoking, one shot of Lilly shows that she's about to take a drag. In the next shot only a second later the cigarette is nowhere near her mouth. Instead it's closer to the table as if just coming back up from the ashtray before she even took the drag. From the side of her head the viewers would have seen her take the drag if it was a constant shot even from another camera angle. See more »

a review of the ACTUAL episode, not a rant about abortions...
29 March 2012 | by emma-lou-whoSee all my reviews

This is actually one of my favourite Cold Case episodes, mostly because I love the Soundtrack. But the story is very good.

Two people are found dead under a building's foundation that was put up in 1969, the bodies are of two young adults, one a white female, the other a black male. The story takes us back to the Summer of Love in a hippie commune. The two dead people were helpers in the revolution with the white girl being in an open relationship with the leader of the revolution. Being the sixties when abortion was illegal extreme times called for some extreme measures, and the pair started volunteering for an actual doctor who could do the safest procedures. With the Afrikaner Liberation Front, angry boyfriends, and possible FBI informers, the motives and suspects keep piling up until the last minute
