This episode is strictly for laughs. The squad is left in a French village to wait for a ride to meet up with Saunders, and Kirby is placed in charge. Three good looking gals smile at our guys as they pass by, and Kirby, Caje, and Billy immediately want to come up with a plan to delay their ride so they can woo the three gals. Littlejohn wants no part in it and tells them, "It won't work." Three Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) sergeants already have dates with the gals, and our guys connive to beat the sergeants out of their dates. Their efforts do not quite succeed, and the episode ends with Littlejohn shaking his head and telling them, "I told you it wouldn't work."Written by
The same village is used in 'Glow Against the Sky' aired several weeks before. It appears that the squad hadn't been there before, so, more than likely, it saved money to use the same place for filming. See more »
After Micheline steals the sergeant's cap, she runs back to Kirby and the others, gets paid for stealing the cap, and runs away before the sergeant catches up to her. Kirby keeps the cap, but throughout the rest of the chase, Micheline has the cap. See more »
A filler episode that plays like a rejected script for a Three Stooge movie. Almost every joke in this episode is actually punctuated by "Wah Wah Waaaaaah' music to remind you you're supposed to laugh.
Besides the failed humor, the writer also tries to cover the "tug at the heart strings" base by throwing in starving orphans, cute French girls, and Nuns.
Every great show has had at least one complete misfire. Look no further than this episode for Combat's first true flop.
