Rookie cop gets into trouble
10 July 2013 | by PaularocSee all my reviews

Matt Anders who has just finished writing a series of magazine articles on refugees in America sees a newspaper article about a hero rookie cop who killed a fleeing murderer. Anders had helped this rookie, Sylvan Danzig, and his wife escape from East Germany seven years previously. Anders decides to visit the Danzigs seeing a good story about a refugee making good. Soon after Anders arrives, in a somewhat implausible story twist, Danzig is arrested for murder of a bookie diner owner and then killing his supposed accomplice in the crime. Anders pretends to be a bookie in order to trap the culprit behind the bookie racket and murder. Adam Williams does an especially good job as Danzig. The episode is an interesting reminder of the influx of European refugees during the Cold War.
