Storyline

Mary Alice Young is a seemingly perfect housewife in a WASP suburban neighborhood who suddenly commits suicide. At her funeral all her friends show up for the wake, all of whom have mysterious secrets they keep from their friends. Then include Lynette Scavo, a former ambitious career woman who gave up her job, at her husband Tom's urging, to be a stay-at-home mom for their four children, three of whom are out of control and rambunctious. Susan Mayer is a divorcée living with her 15-year-old daughter Julie who has a meeting of minds with Mike Delfino, a plumber and new neighbor who's also pursued by Susan's narcissistic rival Edie Britt. Bree Van De Kamp is a stereotypical housewife with an obsessive-compulsive disorder for cleanliness which puts a strain on her long-suffering husband Rex and their two teenage kids, Andrew and Danielle. Gabrielle is a former fashion model married to a wealthy executive to satisfy her obsession for money and luxury items, and who is also having an ... Written by Anonymous

Goofs

At the funeral reception at Paul Young's house, Lynette enters and exits the pool wearing high-heeled shoes. She walks towards Paul, still wearing shoes. In the very next shot, just as she's walking up to Paul to extend her apologies and say good-bye, the camera shows her barefoot. There's no way she had time to take her shoes off. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Mary Alice: [voice over narration] My name is Mary Alice Young. When you read this morning's paper you may come across an article about the unusual day I had last week. Normally there is never anything newsworthy about my life, but that all changed last Thursday. Of course, everything seemed quite normal at first. I made breakfast for my family, I performed my chores, I completed my projects, I ran my errands. In truth, I spent the day as I spent every other day, quietly polishing the routine ...

Binge ready
9 June 2018 | by Br4ve-trave1orSee all my reviews

A series that aired in 2004 and here I am in June 2018 just bingeing it away! The very first episode of Desperate Housewives proves one final thing that's most important to anyone besides me who may not have seen it yet, IT HOLDS UP PERFECTLY TO TODAY! I MEAN IT...JUST PERFECTLY!

This episode got a 10 because it had all the ingredients to make a masterful 45 minutes of entertainment. From eva Longoria mowing the lawn at night in a dress so that the garden boy isnt fired by her husband, to Terry fletcher seeing Micahel Delfino (what a suspicious name??) and relieved and saying, "Its fine, it's fine, everthing fine!" While she glowes with a huge smile in front of a house she just burnt down.

Theres even a muder myster going on too in the background to add intrigue and what do you know the man with the phony sounding name may be a bad guy or hey, maybe not. And the end with the intriguing letter that Mary Ellis, who is narrating the episode and the one who commits suicide opening up the episode.

This show Desperate Housewives, a good name too, is defintely a series that seems binge worthy with 180 episodes!!!

This episode was pure fun and flashes of laughter!! It got me itching for the next episode button so here I go!!! 10/10
