Storyline

Harris is tasked with discrediting arms dealers, and the profits they take out of the business, and prepares a dossier on Hine's activities and uses Mervyn Forde, another former officer but now in need of work, to pose as a concerned activist and publicise the information. Forde in fact approaches Hine to make a deal for the dossier, but is turned down; the next Hine hears of it is when George Dyson, now an MP and a friend of his since childhood, makes an appointment to see him - intent on putting him out of business. Hine employs a detective to look into Dyson's private life, and when they meet he has no choice but to threaten to expose him in return. After their meeting, and having noticed there was no mention of Pendles in the file, he confronts Sir Christopher and promises to expose Pendles' activities if the information on him is released.
