Love lost . . .

My "Knight Rider" awareness is rather limited, but isn't it usually K.I.T.T. who's badly wounded and needs Michael's help getting back on the horse (as they say)? Which is why 'The Scent of Roses' almost immediately feels like a wild card as Michael finds himself burnt out and ready to leave the Trans Am for good (cut-and-run has never been his style).

This offers Hasselhoff plenty of brooding opportunity, especially with the reintroduction of an old flame into his life. It's the age-old clash between duty and happiness that eats away at him, and the Hoff makes the most of it. It's a sad ending, too, which I don't think I was prepared for.
