Storyline

Both Old Man Clanton and Earp notice saddle tramps hanging around the bank. Earp follows Old Man Clanton breaking up their attempt to steal the Clanton payroll and saves Old Man Clanton who was grazed by a bullet. Even though Old Man Clanton harasses Earp, he offers him a job as his ramrod but Earp declines. Meanwhile, the Ten Percent Ring in Tucson fed up with Earp forces the Nugget editor Dameron to print a series of stories fabricated about Earp saying he is married, a road bandit, and taking payoffs. They provide Dameron with witnesses to the charges. Earp under pressure from the city council and public opinion refuses to take action. Doc Holliday himself finally accuses Earp of having hidden funds making Earp realize he must sue Dameron. However, in court the witnesses provided by the ring are having the desired effect of him losing. Old Man Clanton seeing Earp being railroaded is fed up after Earp saved his life provides Earp a key defense witness. Written by Anonymous
