After a homicide occurs in the city, Billie finds out that the victim was a prostitute who worked at a "spa" business. While investigating, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with the victim's co-worker who does not seem to fit the stereotypical profile of a hooker.
Several hookers have been murdered in LA, and Billie is intrigued by the massage parlor worker she meets while writing a piece on prostitution. Rossie invites an elected official to tour the seedy side of town after the latest murder and then writes a story about the official's grandstanding attitude.
- Billie has been assigned to do a piece on prostitutes. Several hookers have been murdered and the killer is being dubbed the "dropcloth" killer, because the bodies are wrapped in a painter's dropcloth. She meets a worker at a massage parlor and is surprised to find the woman not at all like she imagined a prostitute to be. Billie and her subject become friends, and Billie is worried when the woman continues to takes appointments as another prostitute has been found murdered. Rossi is doing a parallel piece on the way porn shops have invaded the older neighborhoods in LA, and invites an elected official to go on a tour of one of the areas with him. The official is upset after Rossi writes a piece about the grandstanding attitude of the man during their tour, who has done nothing to get rid of the porn shops.
