Did You Know?

Todd Susman did the bulk of the announcements in the early seasons, and appeared in the episode "Operation Noselift". The other PA announcer early in the series was Jimmy Lydon. By the end of the series, Sal Viscuso had taken over PA duties completely. Viscuso also appeared several times onscreen, but never making announcements. See more »

Hawkeye: Baker, all a nose is is a nose. It takes in air, and it breaks up the space between your eyes and your mouth. It has nothing to do with a person's value or quality. It's there to catch a cold through, or at which to look down on people from. Enjoy it. You've been given a good, strong, aquiline nose.
Private Danny Baker: That went back for seconds.
Trapper: I like it. Its got character.
Hawkeye: Yeah, it's got a sort of assertive je ne sais quoi.
Private Danny Baker: And it arrives everywhere five minutes ahead of me.
Hawkeye: Hey, you don't have a copyright on ...

A Bit of Nasty Rhinoplasty
1 March 2015 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

A soldier keeps going AWOL because people make fun of his big nose. He pleads with the guys to help him out. Why he deserves this I don't know. It's illegal to perform a nose job so they have to do everything on the sly. Hawkeye knows a top plastic surgeon played by Stuart Margolin (the same actor who played a psychiatrist not that long ago). The usual stumbling block to pulling this off are the team of Burns and Houlihan, who are incredibly nosy (sorry!). The boys also promise him they will hook him up with the "Barricuda," a nurse to be named later. Another use of nurses as part of the flesh market they seem in charge of. The concluding scene is really the best part of this episode.
