MacGyver is burnt out because of the Phoenix Foundation's demanding tasks and decides to take a leave. Also, in his answering machine, there are messages from Jack, who has yet another crazy fortune-making idea, and Penny, who is asking for a favor. MacGyver tries to watch a western on TV, but falls asleep on the couch. In his dream, he is in post-Emancipation Old West, arriving in a town called Serenity. There he meets incarnations of Jack, Penny, Wilt Bozer, Milt Bozer, Billy Colton, and, of course, his nemesis, Murdoc... But the bad guy is Pete! Written by Toni Tapola, Finland

Wilt Bozer's addressing Mac as "pilgrim" and asking sarcastically what type of milk he wants is an obvious reference to John Wayne, since Wayne addresses someone as "pilgrim" in two of his westerns, and is also associated with the famous line, "Get off your horse and drink your milk." Penny Parker singing very poorly in the voice message to MacGyver is in direct contradiction to her much higher quality vocalizing in MacGyver: Cleo Rocks. See more »

Crazy Credits

The music for the closing credits is a western style rendition of a recurring melody usually played at the end of most episodes (before the credits). The standard "MacGyver" theme isn't played at all at the end of this episode. See more »
