Dobie is desperate for money to impress the latest object of his affections, whose name he doesn't even know as she won't tell him. Dobie's older brother, college student Davey Gillis, home on a break, gives Dobie some advice on the matter: create a fictional "Mrs. X", an older married woman with who he is in a doomed love affair, to add mystery and a sense of desirability into his life. The ruse works on who he eventually learns is named Felicia. However, when Felicia spots Dobie with a beautiful older woman, she assumes that woman, their substitute math teacher Mrs. Adams, is Mrs. X. Rumors abound about Dobie and Mrs. Adams. Dobie has to decide whether to quash those rumors or let his classmates and others believe what they want if it means that Felicia will be his girlfriend. Other issues may make up Dobie's mind for him. Written by Huggo
