Storyline

Mary dreams about buying a new car - a convertible - but since her old car is still running perfectly fine, she decides against it. So Rhoda is not averse to asking Mary to borrow some of the money Mary would have used to buy said car - $995 - for a business venture: to open a plant store. After Mary sees what a green thumb Rhoda has, Mary agrees. Rhoda vows to return the money within five weeks. Mary starts to get worried about the amount when Rhoda increases the amount requested by $300. Beyond problems of getting the money out of her term savings account, Mary becomes concerned about getting her money back as she has not seen a dime six and a half weeks later, despite Rhoda implying the store is doing booming business. What's worse for Mary is when she sees that Rhoda has bought herself a whole new wardrobe, and when Rhoda tells her that her car isn't running well after she borrows it, which may mean that Mary has to buy the convertible after all. All Alone with a Loan is Lonely
11 February 2017 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

Rhoda has a green thumb. She decides to make use of her talent and begin a plant business. But she needs about a thousand dollars and hits Mary up for it. She agrees, but it's painful. So as time goes by, she realizes that Rhoda has completely forgotten the loan, not even talking about it. There is some funny stuff that goes on at the car dealership where Mary routinely brings her car. The manager and the mechanics are so enamored with her wheels that they come out to see if she is as classy as her car. This is one of those episodes where you wonder if what happens is really alright. There is one really funny story that Lou tells about his youth and his purchase of a plant. Hilarious.
