Storyline

The IMF must protect a scientist, who had defected from the Eastern Bloc, who is to appear at a conference in the U.S. Two enemy operatives are out to assassinate the scientist. Briggs is more concerned with the younger agent, who is responsible for the deaths of 30 people, many of them women agents. Cinnamon, in her own words, is the "cheese" for the trap, while Briggs and Barney protect the scientist and get the older enemy agent out of the way. Written by Bill Koenig

Trivia

This episode re-uses the movie theater intro from "Old Man Out" for Briggs's briefing. The cutaway shots reveal different pictures on the screen and the soundtrack contains a different message on the tape recorder. In addition, the dossier scene is taken from "Memory". This was done to accommodate Steven Hill, who refused to work on certain religious holidays. See more »

Goofs

There is a significant difference in weight between a loaded gun and an unloaded one (actually - 112 grams for the weapon used in the movie, as declared by its manufacturer). It is unlikely for a professional killer to overlook it. See more »

So painful to watch
28 March 2011 | by annie-293See all my reviews

It actually took me several days to watch this episode -- not because it was good, but because (knowing the ending from other reviews) I kept putting off watching the last bit of the show. Willy and Rollin Hand are nowhere to be seen (given Rollin's customary by-play with Cinnamon, he would have gotten in the way of the plot), and there is very little for Barney or Dan Briggs to do. It's really Cinnamon's show and she goes to town with it. Eric Braeden (or Hans Gudegast as he was here) was very effective as the spy (and so gorgeous to watch even if he is a bit young for his fearsome reputation as a manipulative killer). The byplay between Braeden and Cinnamon would have made a good foundation for a chick flick of the time; knowing that they were fencing from opposite sides of the Iron Curtain added a treacherous undercurrent to their interactions. The surrounding plot line, though, was thinner than thin.
